Renewal Lodge by Burning Tree Renewal Lodge by Burning Tree Elgin, TX Elgin, TX Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time $15 - $16 an hour $15 - $16 an hour Renewal Lodge by Burning Tree is currently seeking Recovery Mentors for our evening shifts Monday - Sunday at our residential short term residential drug and alcohol facility in Elgin, Texas.
Job Responsibilities/Description:
If in recovery, works with assigned clients to help them progress through Renewal Lodge's 12 step packet.
Facilitate recovery groups as assigned.
Makes sure residents adhere to Burning Tree's guidelines both on and off campus.
Monitors and redirects when necessary, the behavior of residents while off campus.
Observes all resident activities and will intervene, redirect and follow up throughout the day.
Utilizes appropriate behavior management techniques to prevent dangerous or violent behavior of residents that may be harmful to others.
Documents observations both positive and negative in the End of Shift note.
Monitors and records accurately self-administration of resident medications.
Observes indications of common side effects, reactions, and possible interactions of medications prescribed for residents and take the appropriate precautions needed.
Assists Director of Nursing with insuring resident prescriptions are filled in a timely manner.
Monitors living quarters and other buildings to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
Conducts security check of premises.
Collects urine specimens from residents for alcohol and drug testing.
Receives and processes resident medications.
Pick up and process all mail.
Monitors distribution of resident mail.
Monitors and redirects when necessary preparation of nightly meals.
Reports any unusual activity, situation, safety risk, and/or client care urgent need to the Director of Recovery Services.
Assists Director of Recovery Services with all resident appointments and transportation needs.
Drives residents to outside meetings as scheduled and/or to scheduled outings.
Picks up new residents at airport or other treatment facilities, etc.
Makes sure unattended units and offices are secured and locked nightly.
Participates in Quality Management process.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
Previous experience in a healthcare/rehab setting preferred.
Preferred 1 Year in Active/Continuous Recovery Knowledge and understanding of Substance Abuse Treatment, 12-Step Philosophy, and Mindfulness practices.
Ability to be flexible with work schedule according to the needs of Burning Tree.
General computer knowledge.
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
