Summary:
Under general supervision, provides varied office administrative and technical support to the Municipal Court Clerk Supervisor and related management, professional, and supervisory staff; performs technical support work related to the department to which assigned; and performs related work as required.
Supervision:
This position reports to the Municipal Court Supervisor and has no direct supervision of other positions.
Education/
Experience:
Applicant must have a high school diploma/GED and (2) years related experience that includes general clerical tasks, customer service, data entry, and working with computers.
Experience working within a municipal court is preferred, but not required.
License and Certifications:
Applicant must possess a valid Driver's License, and be able to maintain it throughout tenure.
In accordance with DPS policy, the employee must be able to receive and maintain clearance for access CJIS database.

Assists in the day to day operations of the Municipal Court, requiring:
- Knowledge of Court operations, policies and procedures - Assists in maintaining Court records, assists Court clients via telephone or in person - Processes and performs data entry for Municipal Court computer applications - Assists in providing liaison between the Court, Police Department and defendants - related work as required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of collecting and reconciling daily cash receipts for fines and bonds - Knowledge of preparing and reconciling daily cash receipt reports - Knowledge of preparing daily bank deposits - Skilled in using considerable discretion and confidentiality based on specialized knowledge of Court operations and the judicial process - Skilled in entering data accurately and in a timely manner - Skilled in using a 10 key calculator by touch - Skilled in preparing communications through a word processing program - Skilled at using a computer terminal for extended periods of time - Ability to interface with the administrative and judicial requirements on a daily basis while assisting a constant stream of Court customers - Ability to prepare courtesy past due letters - Ability to prepare and submit cases via electronic transmission to DPS, OMNI and other collection agencies - Ability to accurately sort and file - Ability to assist in preparing court dockets, jury charges and cases for the court - Ability to assist in processing complaints and appeals - Ability to work well under pressure and is receptive to supervision - Ability to work well with the public, co-workers and supervisors, communicating effectively, maintaining composure and requests assistance when needed and displaying a helpful attitude and professional demeanor in all circumstances both in person and via telephone WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Hours/Travel Works a standard Monday-Friday 40-hour work week.

Frequently required to sit, stand at computer while using hands, arms, and fingers to reach and input data in systems.
Exposure to noise from close by departments and co-workers.
Operate and troubleshoot office equipment such as copiers, computers, calculators, printers, and other equipment.
May lift and move boxes and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Disaster Service Workers Clause In the event of a declared emergency or any undeclared emergency or natural disaster that threatens the life, health and/or safety of the public, designated employee's may be assigned to assist rescue and relief workers.
Such assignments may be in locations, during hours and performing work significantly different from the employees; normal work assignments and may continue through the recovery phase of the emergency.
