We are hiring Animal Care Techs to work starting March 5th through the end of October.
Technicians work directly with a variety of native Texas wildlife, including mammals, birds and reptiles.
We are hiring for both Day Shift and Night Shift staff (Full-Time and Part-Time).
Job Location Rehabilitation Center, Elgin, TX 78621 Full-Time Schedule Day shift staff are scheduled for four days a week 6am-4pm.
Night shift staff are scheduled for four days a week 2pm-Midnight.
Both Day and Night shift staff work every other weekend (Sat & Sun).
Part-Time Schedule Day shift staff are scheduled for three days a week 6am-4pm.
Night shift staff can choose to work two or three shifts a week 2pm-Midnight.
Both day and night part-time staff will work every other weekend (Sat & Sun).
Mandatory Training Four days of paid training is MANDATORY for this position and will run 8am-6pm March 5th- March 8th.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Cleaning cages Feeding animals Administering medications Maintaining care plans for injured animals Providing direction/guidance to interns and volunteers Assisting the public with animals they bring to our facility.
This is a very physical job that requires a lot of movement and lifting.
Requirements/Preferences:
A degree in wildlife management or related field is preferred but not required.
Experience working with wildlife is preferred but not required.
Rabies pre-exposure vaccines are required for this position and cost is the responsibility of the employee.
The first vaccine must be obtained by March 11 & the second by March 22.
